the adventure of the invisible ducks, elusive seagulls, crafty crows and a hummingbird

Like WOW, what a quest today. a rollercoaster of highs and lows, mountains and valleys. after only recieving two answers to the question i asked about what is relaxing to do on a sunday. (the swimming in the sea being about the least relaxing thing i could possibly do). so i decided to try and feed the ducks. soon i realized there are basically no ducks in brighton that i know of. i decided to seek the brighton equivalent. THE SEAGULL. finding one caused me and my camerman some serious problems at first but we soon got past these hurdles and achieved our goal, too extreme jubilation and merriment. these where no ordinary seagulls, these were tequila glugging ones with a taste for taco's. the quest was a success in the end and thats all that matters. making simple tasks and tasks an adventure, i have found, makes them far more exciting interesting and funny.
i hope to do more adventures in the future (george, Brighton)

!toomanytourists!

the answers i recieved for this challenge (no offence intended) i felt were a bit simple, probably set by alot of hungover people. the challenge i chose was to buy brighton rock from the pier, to add some spice to the mix, i thought i would reinvent myself as a travelling tourist hence the white shorts with blazer look. this transformation would entale me asking unusual questions to locals and doing all the touristy things. i had a go on a tweenies or teletubbies (not sure which ) rocking car, took photos of all the shiny stuff and generally had a day by the seaside. but as all saga's must have darkness there is a strong scene at the end which adds a new emotional level to the piece. (wow that was difficlut talking in that fashion). overall i had a fun time doin it but asking the people on the pier was a bit scary. You would think tourists should look happy, but they dont, they all looked absolutely miserable which was off putting when trying to ask them questions. (george , Brighton)

art is a way of life nolt just a hobby

the brief you set us made me, fisrt confused, then caused some serious pondering. eventually i decided to go do it on the thing i have a serious passion for (art if you hadnt guessed). i chose to allow people who i have never met or talked (properly to) to influence what i do inmy art. my studio space was the original, obvious location, but decided against this as this where all my art is created. i chose the answer to use other products rather than paint to create my work. i went back to the land of sainsbury and purchased alot of beans and a loaf of bread, also a tub of mint sauce, which i thought would be good for the darker bits of the work. the final piece was a master piece on the level of the greats. it was fun to work out of my usual medium and still retained a fun factor which i worried would be lacking in this task. the pound adventure

i set the task to myself to buy a full meal with a pound which started of well. basics noodles are 8 p and a whole pot of mint saucce was only 11p. sadly it cam just over so had to put back the mint sauce as was more a luxury (if you could say that) rather than a necessity. the money i used to buy this prospective meal had to be borrowed as i had no money and no cash card at the moment. but oh well. some sort of irony or something in that . the meal was all going to plan and perfectly timed and arranged, but the only problem with it is it tasted absolutely shit. next time buy some bread is my advice. all went straight into the bin.

shopping list:
baked beans
sausage meatballs in tomato sauce
tomato pasta sauce
2 paacks of chicken noodles
ALL BASICS OF COURSE 92p total

the danish adventure

My task to become a true danish person, felt from the start like a real adventure something on the magnitude of the quest for the rowntree or another epic. i chose to stuff my face with danish pastries and do some serious merry jigging and bust a groove. at first i was a bit aprehensive as there was a large group of builders watchin but definetly got into the swing of it pretty quick. one panned out view and then moved to another location for a close up shot which unusually had a busker playing a wierd instrument, which conveniently fitted with dance. seriously fun (george, Brighton)

Wake up video

water a way to wake someone

this mornin after arriving home at a fashionably late arrival at 6 in the mornin, the thought of a nasty wake up within only a meager 4 hours was not cool, not cool at all. The water hit me like a slap fuckin hell i shot up. It was absolutely fuckin freezin
AAAAAAHHH.
shortly after comin to my senses i realized what had happened and quickly began changing bed. having a wet matress sucks balls.
The actual method of waking was highly effective, trust me in knowing it is not a nice way for it to be done, but never the less a very well doen job. in the future ill probably avoid it in future cases and stick to old trusty alarm clock just out of reach. i found it quite entertaining trying to explain to my flatmates the reasoning behind this madness.
i am tryin to upload the videos but am a technoretard struggling, so sorry if not up yet.
definite success in this experiment.

Instructions Part 1

INSTRUCTIONS PART I
Brief for ethnographic study
Hello There,
Imagine a week when all of the decisions you make are out of your control …
Thank you for agreeing to participate in this social experiment. All together there are 10 of you (one group of five in Brighton, one group of five in London) involved.
Between Monday 29th October and Sunday 4th November you will be paid for keeping a video diary, uploading thoughts, pictures and videos onto a blog (that will be set up by Tim Gardner and Fraser Millward from The Lounge).
Your tasks will vary however there will be a set requirement of you each day. You will be required to upload a minimum of 4 photos per day, write a minimum of 200 words in your blog and record minimum 2 mins of video per day. You will then need to upload this video on to YouTube and send the link to Alfred.tong@theloungegroup.com. You will also be required to keep ALL the videos on the camera you have been provided with. These will be collected in at the end of your diary so you MUST NOT DELETE ANY OF THE VIDEOS FROM THE CAMERA.
PAY
You will be paid £100 for your input. The more content you provide us with, the better. In fact, for the four of you that give us the most (and the most interesting stuff) there will be an extra £50 each. Tim and Fraser will be in regular contact to make sure that all is well. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any technical issues so that we can sort them out.
N.B. It is vital that you complete your tasks when we ask you to do them, or the whole project will fall apart. Your cash will depend on it!
But bear with us, we promise it will be fun and unlike anything you have ever been asked to do before!
Task 1
Sunday 28 October
Upload onto your blog a short video introducing yourself and covering the following topics:
Name
Age
Occupation/or whatever you are studying
What your interests are including favourite bands, clubs, clothes, designers, artists, and anything else that you are passionate about.
Dreams and ambitions
Who/what do you normally turn to when you want advice about something (anything at all)?
How much do you trust what you see/read on the internet?
What is the best thing you have found on the internet recently, something that you have passed on to one of your mates?
Can you also answer the following question in as much detail as possible:
‘What do you think of the idea of someone, who you don’t even know, making all of your decisions for you?’
N.B. You must do this on Sunday in order that everyone else in the groups can see your blogs on Monday morning. Again this is vital to the success of the project.
That will be all for now. You will receive your next set of instructions in your inbox on Monday at 9.30am. Please make sure you read these instructions carefully before you go to college or work. It should take no longer than five minutes.
Please send an email to Tim (Tim.Gardner@theloungegroup.com) that you have read the email and understood it. We will sort out any problems or concerns asap
